Ok Go regresa 5 años después, cargados de experiencia y millones de visitas a su video Here It Goes Again en Youtube. La experiencia le sirvió a la banda para refinar su estilo, a un grado casi "pulpquesco", con ritmos y letras jugueteando entre lo elegante y lo divertido, con toques funkies aquí y allá. Si bien podría parecer que el disco está muy cargado, al menos la mitad de las canciones del album valen la pena. La otra mitad está de relleno, pero la mejora de este y su anterior disco es bastante notoria.

El quinto disco de estudio de The National es una verdadera joya. De los mejores 10 discos que salieron durante el 2010 y tal vez el de mayor poder lírico. Escucharlo casualmente o entregando el 100% de tu atención, de principio a fin o solo los sencillos o canciones al asar, no importa; el disco con cada beat te deja una sensación de satisfacción aún después de horas de haberlo escuchado.

Aún no logra llamarme la atención lo suficiente el disco. Creo que el principal problema es la voz de Caleb Folowill, simplemente no la percibo agradable. Juzguen ustedes mismos, aunque no parece superar a sus antecesores, una banda de esta calaña rara vez saca algo de mala calidad.

The Wedding Present - Seamonsters [1991]

The Wedding Present es una de las bandas más subvaloradas de la historia. Su melosa historia comienza en 1984 cuando la novia de David Gedge, líder y único miembro que ha permanecido desde la fundación de la banda hasta el presente, lo abandona por el guitarrista en turno de The Lost Panda, agrupación anterior a The Wedding Present.
David Gedge forma la nueva banda en el 85 y su ascenso por la cuna del Indie Rock es lento pero sólido, impulsados sobre todo por el reconocido DJ de radio John Peel. El mismo John Peel, que abusaba programando a esta banda en la radio de la BBC, mencionó en numerosas ocasiones que David Gedge escribió las mejores canciones de amor de la época.
Para terminar de convencerlos, Seamonsters fue producido por el legendario Steve Albini, quien ha trabajado con bandas de la talla de Nirvana y Pixies (y para qué seguir con la lista).

Broken Bells - Broken Bells [2010]

Una de las mejores producciones musicales del año. James Mercer, vocalista de The Shins, y Brian Burton, mejor conocido como Danger Mouse, crean una perfecta amalgama de sonidos. Un disco ideado para seguir cierta secuencia e historia pero que musicalmente explota cada faceta de estos dos artistas y forma un sincretismo mágico y distinto con cada pieza del disco.
